As I lay in bed, tired from my late night, I was pondering putting off yoga until later on, then the puppy barked.
Standing outside in the fresh air, now wide-awake, I decided yoga it will be, and it was almost 5am.
My body didn’t seem that affected by the late night and only 6 hours of sleep, surprisingly we did all right.
We keep getting affirmations how the mind tells us false predictions, “you are too tired to do yoga,” and without trying, I may have believed it.
By challenging the voice and at least attempting to begin, you can make a new belief.
My new belief is that I can stay up late and get up early and do yoga. I did it.
It is wonderful to know the truth.
Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor helped me understand the mind, and how the right and left side each hold a role.
The left side had a file marked, “too tired in the morning after a late night, I can’t.” Which I am sure was created at a weak moment, where I needed an excuse to get out of doing something.
Now that file is replaced with, ‘I can do yoga with only 6 hours of sleep.”
How fun this is to switch the files from “I can’t to I can”!
“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.” Einstein
What they didn’t tell us is that thinking the same thing over and over will stop you from getting a different result.
I am thinking that thinking is what stops most from doing anything.
How strong the words, “I can’t” are. Imagine how they have the power to hold you in helpless, hopeless and keep you getting weaker and weaker.
Now imagine the power in the words “I CAN”!
