  • Mask of High Morals.

When I looked up the meaning of Evil it said “profoundly immoral or wrong.” And when I looked up the word Immoral it said ”contrary to accepted moral principles.”

And, Moral is defined as “relating to issues of right and wrong” or “derived from personal conscience: based on what somebody’s conscience suggests is right or wrong, rather than on what rules or the law says should be done.”

So evil is breaking the moral code.

What happens in a family where the moral code is twisted, if right is wrong and wrong is right?

When a child breaks that code, instead of being right, the family actually sees them as evil, for they broke the family’s moral code.

I am surprised that evil is actually defined more by morals or immoral behavior than actual rules and laws.

Discerning evil is harder when what you call normal is evil and good is a foreign concept.

Evil is actually only a personal affront to your own morals. And the morals are personal to you.

Morals, “according to common standard of justice: regarded in terms of what is known to be right or just, as opposed to what is officially or outwardly declared to be right or just.”

What is known to be right or just, not what is an official right or wrong.

My teachings of evil or my awareness of morals were defined by my parents and my mother’s religion, the churches conscience was my mothers.

Evil is going against the morals…and if the morals themselves are evil, then what?

Raised in a vaccum of evil morals all good becomes evil.

Imagine living up to evil morals…where the gold standard is far beneath its value, where bad is seen as good and good bad.

It seem perposterous, incredibly insane, to not recognize evil, the evil of the norm. But when your evil was defined by a limited cult of religious fanatics, you are then raised to see anything outside the walls of the churches morals to be wrong.

The church wore a mask of high morals.

  • God Only Accepts Originality.

“What makes you think that human beings are sentient and aware?  There's no evidence for it.  Human beings never think for themselves, they find it too uncomfortable.  For the most part, members of our species simply repeat what they are told – and become upset if they are exposed to any different view.  The characteristic human trait is not awareness but conformity, and the characteristic result is religious warfare.  Other animals fight for territory or food; but, uniquely in the animal kingdom, human beings fight for their "beliefs."  The reason is that beliefs guide behavior, which has evolutionary importance among human beings.  But at a time when our behavior may well lead us to extinction, I see no reason to assume we have any awareness at all.  We are stubborn, self-destructive conformists.  Any other view of our species is a self-congratulatory delusion.  ~Michael Crichton, The Lost World

I read the above paragraph on the Quote Garden site, and I am also reading a book called, “Under the Banner of Heaven” a story of a violent faith, by Jon Krakauer.

I wonder how many people question where the seeds of their religion were started, who began each of the separate strains of religion, who created the rules and decide what was the perfect concoction that would get you into Heaven, what would anger God, what would make him happy, how you must behave in order to have the correct ticket into heaven upon your death.

From my viewpoint of being an observer of the regulations each church puts upon its members, being your self isn’t enough, you have to design yourself to fit into their boxes of what is right and what is wrong.

Reading account of how Joseph Smith began the Mormon Church is insanity at its best.  Just the way in which he dictated the information alone is crazy.

“Joseph would place the magic rock in an upturned hat, bury his face in it with the stack of golden plates sitting nearby, and dictate the lives of scripture that appeared to him out of the blackness.”

This is the how the Book Of Mormon was created and today there are more than eleven million saints that follow this writing.

The golden plates have never been found; yet 11 million people are following what some man created with his head buried in a hat.

It leads you to wonder how the rest of the religions were founded, by whom on what grounds.

I am a skeptic at best that any religion has a sturdier bottom than the Mormons.

A violent faith…, it seems that all faiths are violent to the individual spirit and uniqueness of each of us.

One God and many paths, perhaps if we each formed our own religion it would be a much kinder planet, since most of the fighting is about who is right and whose church goes to Heaven.

Heaven is knowing there isn’t only one right church and one right path, Heaven is knowing God isn’t found in certain religion.

Heaven knowing you don't have to be in a certain religion acting a certain way so that when you die, you will be in heaven.  Heaven is being you.

There is a quote that goes something like this.  God only accepts originality.

Imagine 11 million people are trying to be like Joseph Smith….

  • Life of Freedom

The leader of my childhood religion will be laid to rest today, yet his teachings will live on within many of his devote followers.

His word and guidance led my mother’s life, which in turn greatly influenced mine.

Born into this religion, it was what I was raised upon. Like food for the body, this controlled my mind.

What is unreal to me is that I didn’t know that my mind was controlled until after I left the church, for while I was there; insanely I felt this was my choice.

It is not a choice if you are not given an alternative.

Inside the walls of this religion you hand over your mind and your body.

It owns them both, like a robot you then march forward.

A good Christian soldier mindlessly unquestionably and in Faith walks on, blindly following where the preacher leads.

Your inner guide is replaced by the spoken word in church.

This spoken word from the preacher overrides all individual choice, and in fact individual choice is seen as the devils urgings.

The only way this system works is that a child is born into it, before it has power of Self, it is programmed and brainwashed into believing the message of the church.

The children are the seeds of the next generation.

It isn’t so much the elders of the church that keep this system going, but rather the children which are crafted into little Christian soldiers before their minds ever know a free thought.

Bending and twisting the free spirit into a controlling mindless Being is the only way this insane religion will work.

No one in their right minds will hand over their body, their mind and surely not their soul.

Oddly enough, the preacher man believes he is saving souls and perhaps he is, saving them for his own good.

They are giving up their lives for the cause.

The sheer volume of children that are born into this religion boggles the mind.

I had thought that the children were the residual affects of the sin called “No Birth Control.”

But it is more insidious than that; it is where the power comes from, it is how the army continues to grow from inside the walls.

Being born into captivity the little children seldom escape to live a free life.  For inside the cage lives their parents and family members.

In order to be free, you leave them all behind seemingly puppets on the preachers string.

As many mourn his passing today, I will mourn the thousands of little children stuck inside the cages of their own minds, who may never know a life of freedom.

  • Reality has no Delete Buttons

I am way confused about the applications of religion, the way religion believes that you can hand over your burdens to God, that Jesus will carry the things you don’t want to deal with, that he is a dumping off place.

How can you literally hand the “bad stuff” over?

Like what do you do actually?

How do you take experiences and actions and bundle them up and hand them over?

How do you remove them from your past?

Isn’t it odd that this ‘forgiving and forgetting’ technique is only used for things that are troubling about other people; you never remove the ‘good things’ only the bad things you don’t want to deal with.

It reminds me a huge delete button.

When a person’s action hurts or makes you feel bad, and you don’t really want to address it, you can hit this button.

When an incident happens that changes the original picture of someone, you can just hit the “I forgive you button” and like magic they continue to be ‘good’.

This button will allow the other person not to have the hassle of changing, or making corrections; you are just agreeing to not see them.

Agreeing to not see them does not make them disappear.  You are just two people pretending something is no longer there.

It is like living in a world where hurtful things happen, but you are denying they are there, you are determined not to see/hear and feel them.

I am amazed and blown back that many actually believe this works.

This delete button is in your head; it really doesn’t work in reality.

You simply can’t walk along and hit this button when people’s behavior is unkind.

You can’t create a new version of someone by overlooking his or her behaviors/actions! It simply doesn’t work in reality.  In reality the person continues on doing that which he does and you are just overlooking it.

How supposedly intelligent individuals cannot see this NOT working puzzles me.

The only delete button is actions.

    They have to act different.

They have to walk a new walk to change their behavior.

You simply can’t forgive and forget enough times to make the other person change.

My mother tried this repeatedly and my father continued to abuse little girls.  Her forgiving and forgetting allowed him to not have to change.

Oh MY God you simply can’t stuff this stuff into a belief in your head and make the world a better place!  You have to deal in the real.

What is so insane to me is I am seen as the one with the issues for I have no delete button anymore!  I am the problem, because I will not forgive and forget.

    My delete button is broken.

I am out of my mind and into reality.

    Reality has no delete buttons!

  • God or Non-Reality.

In an email I received, there was talk about faith in God and also a group who gather who “truly love the Lord and are very interested in learning and growing in their faith in God and only want to learn about the truth.”

    I found this interesting.

How do you put a gauge on your ‘faith’ in God?  How do you grow that faith or learn more about the faith in God?  What truth are they seeking of God?

What is being challenged, God or you?

The words faith and truth seem to be such honorable things to have towards God.

How does that work?  How can you tell if someone has a bigger faith than you, or know more truths than you do?  Is there a better religion to find this?

    Of course I had to look up the meaning of Faith;

belief or trust: belief in, devotion to, or trust in somebody or something, especially without logical proof

    – religion or religious group: a system of religious belief, or the group of people who adhere to it

    – trust in God: belief in and devotion to God

“Especially without logical proof” stands out to me.

To have faith without logical proof is that without a direct experience?  It seems that religions are asking you to believe in something without ‘logical proof’.

    What is logical?

-sensible and based on facts: based on facts, clear rational thought, and sensible reasoning

    – able to think rationally: able to think sensibly and come to a rational conclusion based on facts rather than emotion

    – of philosophical logic: relating to philosophical logic

Based on facts, clear rational thought isn’t needed to have faith?  Is that right?  How can they want us to leave our clear and rational thoughts behind, to not think sensibly and not come to a rational conclusion based on facts rather than emotions.

It does seem to me, and this is my experience, that rational thinking or facts do get left behind, and it brings you in to a pretend world.

My childhood religion was based on ‘forgiveness’ of sins.

Of having the ‘faith’ that they indeed would be washed away.

It came to me shortly after discovering who my father was, that this religion had been ‘forgiving’ him all along.  It (religion) had the power to erase or delete reality.

To believe or have faith in words erasing an action just seems impossible to believe in.

You really have to use your mind and conjure up a clean slate, even if your feelings are not so easily fooled.

And the sentiment is that if you can’t “forgive” you are worse than the original sinner!  It is our duty to forgive, our duty to erase the actions of another.  Do we really have that power?

To have faith in certain religions means to step further and further from the truth of life itself.  When they have rituals and rules and words that can upright the fallen is weird to me.

If you look at my father alone, it is impossible to cure or heal or right his wrongs.  They are done. The bells have been rung!  He and he alone sit with his actions.  His mind is very confused and no amount of forgiveness can unravel that mind.  It will take years of work to correct that, and a willingness to do so.

Again, Martha Beck’s meaning of forgiveness rings more true, “Forgiveness is accepting the past cannot be changed.”

    What are religions selling?

What is the actual application you are signing up for?

What is their connection with God that you have to go to them to get?

    Where is God kept?

I know this may sound like sour grapes or the mental ramblings of a mental woman, but I am truly and indeed seeking to know what it is they are selling?

What I know is that reality wins only but 100% of the time.

That a confused mind does confusing things.

That when you clear your mind you clear your actions.

I am much more inclined to seek to broaden my awareness, to see and question more and more in reality and sit less and less in a pretend space of ‘faith’.

What I know is that reality is truth and truth is reality and both are God.  I need no faith to know this.

It seems to me when I wasn’t in reality I needed faith, but once reality hit me smack in the face, religion and faith flew out the window.  It was useless and pointless in the face of reality.

There was no amount of faith that could change what was.

No amount of forgiveness within me that would un-ring the bell that had been rung in my childhood.

It seems that religion takes the place of reality.

Faith to me is like a new F word.

It separates you from reality and logic.

We need new religions that are reality based, instead of ‘faith’ based.

Ironically I found God in the midst of Truth and Reality, where he was all along.

He and I were on the same page.

    I saw what God saw.

The more aware I became the more I saw God everywhere, in fact there is nowhere where he isn’t.

To me there is only one choice, either God or Non-reality.
