  • Hide what isn’t there.

“Speech as opposed to telepathy used by the animals…and the silence of muktas arose due to a need to be untruthful, and have a deeper involvement in material.” Tony O’Clery

Speech arose due to the need to be untruthful is what I get from this quote, that we use language to deflect the true meaning of our actions or to excuse behavior.

Immediately I thought of dogs and how we learn who they are by how they behave. A friendly dog acts friendly and an unfriendly dog acts unfriendly.

What we miss is the excuse or reason an unfriendly dog is unfriendly, we take it as it is for they don’t have the luxury of words to sway us to believe otherwise.

And we don’t have unfriendly dogs trying to be friendly, by speaking nicely over feelings of unfriendliness.

Dr. Maya Angelou quote, “People show you who they are, Believe them.”

Yet time and time again, we will take the words above the action.

“I love you” will override the abusive action.

“I am sorry or please forgive me,” is a way to deflect away from the behavior.

What if we all stood with how we acted each time?

What if we address immediately the action?

What if words were used to just speak of actions?

How often are your words used to get the other person to not believe your actions?

Owning our actions seems like a really simple thing, but often times our actions alone are untruthful, we go places we don’t want to go, we do things we don’t feel right doing, we go along to get along.

We get lost to what our own standards are for we get used to doing things for peace and to not be a stick in the mud, to be seen as okay, or a million other reasons.

Due to this speech thing, we can tell ourselves we are doing something for a good reason, even when the behavior is bad for us and for others, we will find an ulterior motive that makes it okay.

It is like the Picketers at funerals of soldiers, they feel that their message overrides all events taking place.

What they fail to see is that their behavior is actually screaming above the signs, their true nature is showing, their hatred and fear arises long before a sign of love.

They say they are warning us of God’s wrath, what they are displaying is their own wrath.

The visual of picketers is what I often times feel of people who tell you one thing but do another. That we are supposed to keep our eyes focused on the sign and not see where they are walking and over who they tromp, just focus on the words, like a mad hypnotist of lies they bend us to believe opposite of what is truly going on.

If you look at the world through the eyes of babies or animals, you would see things differently.

“Out of the mouths of babes” comes truth, for they have not learned the power of words to hide what isn’t there.

  • Gateway Into Self

    A blog called, Brave Girls Club, has a wonderful story about wearing signs, or the lack there of at;

    http://www.bravegirlsclub.com

As I pondered which signs I am hiding or what I am not revealing it occurred to me that a sign was hung upon my neck, when my father’s truth hit the daily news.

His past hung heavy around my neck.

A sign I did not want to wear.

His sign and my sign were puzzle pieces, they went together, he was a pedophile and I was his victim.

Yet the sign wasn’t hung upon me until a niece spoke up and her words matched my feelings, and now I had a sign as proof.

What an awkward, clumsy, shameful, disgusting sign, I had to wear.

It was this sign that all turned away from, old friends became strangers, acquaintances dodged me, my sign didn’t fit into many relationships.

The sign entered into the room before me, it over shadowed any cute outfit I wore, there was no way to hide or dress it up, It was exposed.

Sadly some signs are not given the same considerations as most.

In the first blushes of wearing this sign, I stood alone.

Me and my new sign not knowing how to stand, to walk and carry myself with this new found history, I soon seen how I was someone to steer clear of.

It is so interesting that some signs gain many friends and tons of support, while other signs are shunned and feared, their darkness too dark to approach.

Standing up in those early days, with the weight of the devastation upon me, the sign nearly collapsed my spirit.

Surprisingly that by having had to walk alone, I have more strength, not less.

I still wear my sign, it will not go away, it and I are one, my past is me, and I am it.

Some signs are the gateway into self.

  • A Party of Like Minds

As a Mail Lady during a political season we deliver lots of campaign messages or ideas from individuals trying to win your vote, and as I see it, they are all negative.

They don’t tell you what they themselves are doing, but what the other person does or will do, negatively.

It seems like hate mail of the other candidate and they are trying to gather a team of haters.

A few weeks back I also saw picketers in front of two churches on a beautiful fall afternoon, seemingly nice friendly peaceful folk, holding up hateful signs.

What juxtaposition between the hateful signs, the church, a splendid fall day.

Will a hateful sign really make you change your mind?

How is holding up a sign at what we are supposedly doing wrong helping anyone, isn’t that actively sitting in judgment?

Looking outward at what we are doing wrong, instead of sitting in quiet repose of self.

You can literally feel the negative energy that flows off the paper and into your awareness.

The only thing you will gather with those signs and political ads are more of the like-minded folk, like a magnet sweeping humanity to find negative energy.

If this is true, imagine what would happen with compassionate signs.

It is interesting what we are drawn to whether it be negative energy or positive, healing or hurtful, abusive or loving, even without signs we seem to find our own party.

    A party of like minds.
