In Reverence…

“You can’t know my world until you are there

This is my latest Lady quilt, the final touch I added today, a cross that bears the words,

"The Old Me"

As I look upon this quilt, I am filled with feelings of gratitude and reverence for the life I lived, the shoes I wore; my journey and am also filled with pure potential of what is yet to be.

I find such peace with this image, honoring my pathway to be who I am today.

I thought of this post which was first posted in September 2010….as I read Step Six.

Wow Beth, that is absolutely beautiful. I am so proud of you, the way you express your journey through your writings, matched by your quilts. Having to relive what you buried in order to heal. Continue to be stong, stay the course. You inspire me.
    You are amazing.

It is wonderful to know that the ‘old’ can be completely put to death – never to rise again.
“You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.’ Eph. 4:22-24

The more I look upon this quilt, the more meaning it holds. I love the compassion and empathy I feel for my pathway, instead of regret, shame and guilt. I completely understand why I walked as I did. And I also feel great potential and excitement as I look upon the future. Thanks for your words and continued support.
